This PE cover protects the knot area, which is prone to damage during casting. It helps reduce trouble during casting games, ensuring you don’t miss that crucial cast. Featuring Spectra® technology, it’s impact-resistant and can also be used to create assist hooks.

Ocea Covered Knot PE was developed as a spacer PE line specifically for use over the main PE line.

There are two main advantages to using this covered knot PE.

First and foremost, it protects the area around the knot in the PE line, where damage tends to accumulate. Whether you grip the knot with your fingers or not during casting, the main line around the knot is susceptible to damage, resulting in noticeable fraying and reduced strength. By covering this area with Covered Knot PE, you can protect the main line and further reduce the loss of strength.

The second point is that it acts as a cushion, gradually changing the thickness and stiffness from the leader to the PE main line. Differences in thickness and stiffness between the leader and the PE main line can cause line troubles during casting and entanglement with the rod guides, but attaching a covered knot PE helps to suppress these problems.

The Ocea Covered Knot PE line is constructed with 16 strands, resulting in a smooth surface and enabling smooth line passage through the guides during casting.

Furthermore, each individual strand of yarn is made from Honeywell’s Spectra®, which is also used in products such as Hard Bull 8+. The yarn itself is thick and has excellent abrasion resistance, providing stronger protection for the PE main line.

Ocea Covered Knot PE has a slightly stiff wax coating on its surface, giving the line just the right amount of rigidity. This improves the ease of threading the PE line through a sewing needle or wire.
